How to Vote

We are officially two weeks away from the October 14th by-election. Please continue reading for all the information you need to support OneCity at the polls to help us build a Vancouver for everyone!

Advanced Voting Days

Wednesday, October 4th and Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

All advanced voting must be done at Vancouver City Hall at 452 12th Ave West.


General Voting Day

Saturday, October 14th, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Voting Requirements

In order to be eligible to vote in this election, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. You must be 18 years of age or older on October 14, 2017;
  2. You must be a Canadian Citizen;
  3. You must have lived in British Columbia for 6 months prior to October 14th;
  4. You must have lived in Vancouver for 30 days prior to October 14th or own property in your name in within the City of Vancouver; and
  5. Be allowed to vote by law.


Registering to Vote

The City of Vancouver is not sending voter cards for this election, you can check the City of Vancouver website to verify if you have registered. 

If you have not registered to vote in this election, you can register at any voting place on October 14th, or at City Hall on October 4th and 10th. All that is required is that you bring two pieces of valid ID.


Valid Identification

Please bring two pieces of ID with you to the polls. This ID needs to include your name and address, and one of the two pieces is required to have your signature on it.
