Safer Routes to Schools

Riding to School

Schools zones should be inviting and accessible areas so that families and community members can access their schools safely. Whether you go to school on foot, by bike, skateboard, scooter, mobility device or unicycle, safety must be a priority. In addition, replacing vehicle trips with safe walking and rolling modes would reduce probability of vehicle accidents, help reduce carbon emissions, increase physical activity, and promote vibrant neighbourhoods.

Join OneCity School Trustee Jennifer Reddy and Councillor Christine Boyle in asking for City and School Board staff to report back on specific ways to help make families who walk and roll to school safer at all schools.

Do you support safer routes for kids and families to walk or roll to school?
