Groups of people sitting in a public park with thirsty for change written as text

Vancouver City Council: Open our parks and beaches to the responsible enjoyment of alcohol.

Call us radical, but we don't think it should be illegal to bring a growler or a bottle of wine with you to the park. Judging from the high number of Vancouver residents getting hit with drinking tickets every year, neither do many of you!

Drinking fines negatively impact lower income communities the hardest. Our City's bylaw enforcement resources could be better redirected elsewhere.

If we elect Brandon Yan and Christine Boyle for City Council on October 20th, they will work with the Park Board to have legalized drinking in public parks and beaches in Vancouver. Of course, current laws that prohibit public intoxication and litter will be maintained.

Do you support the legalization of drinking in Vancouver parks and on our beaches?

If you think it's time to legalize drinking in parks, sign this petition and share it with your friends.
