I have known Sherry for 10 years. She has been an active volunteer with Dyslexia BC, supporting families, providing educational workshops about dyslexia, and representing our interests on committees and in meetings at both the district and provincial level.
Sherry is extremely knowledgeable about our education system and brings a practical, thoughtful and patient approach to her work. As a university instructor, she understands that students learn in different ways. She adjusts her teaching to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate and learn.
Sherry is also a great listener and is genuinely committed to learning. She is proactive and has a good understanding of what is needed to create more inclusive classrooms and better support students.
I believe Sherry would bring a thoughtful and practical perspective to the Vancouver School Board.”
