VANCOUVER (Musqueam, Squamish and Tsieil-Waututh Territories) - OneCity Vancouver councillor Lucy Maloney issued the following statement following the passage of her motion Developing a Vision Zero Road Safety Policy and Action Plan:

“Today’s vote is a win for everyone, whether you walk, drive, bike, or take transit - or if, like most of us, you do all of the above. The City of Vancouver will prioritize safety on our roads, taking an evidence-based approach to invest in the actions that work to reduce road deaths and injuries to zero.

Today is just the first step. We’ll have to keep the pressure on to ensure this motion is implemented. And I look forward to working with residents, advocates, and stakeholders to make that happen.”
