The climate crisis is here. We’re in the middle of the worst wildfire season in history and continue to face an unprecedented drought. Enough is enough.

On Friday, September 13th, OneCity will be joining thousands of youth, parents, teachers, and community members at the Global Climate Strike on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) lands, colonially known as Vancouver. We are taking to the streets to demand a rapid, just, and equitable end to fossil fuels as world leaders gather at the United Nations in New York.

Will you join us to call attention to the urgency for climate action?

We’ll also be handing out petitions to call the Mayor and Council to pass a maximum temperature bylaw to protect our renters’ safety.

Join us and march for climate action! If you have a OneCity t-shirt, don’t forget to wear it!

We’ll be meeting at 1:00 PM by the George Vancouver statue, just north of the City Hall building, and then following the 2019 climate strike route towards downtown, via the Cambie St Bridge. We will end at the Vancouver Art Gallery, where there will be speakers and performers with ASL interpreters.

If you have any accessibility concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected]

With thanks,

Christine Boyle
